This blog will be utilized throughout the Loudoun International Youth Leadership Summit as a forum for delegates to post their reflections about the speakers, site visits, and summit dialogues. It is our hope that this blog will provide the Loudoun community as well as the participating communities insight into the perspectives of the international delegates as they explore the theme "defining freedom, defending dignity" alongside the Dominion and Park View student bodies.
I luv it.
ReplyDeletethis summit has taught me much about global health leadership and differnent religions. it has been an amazing experience and remember ggggooooooo titans.
ReplyDeleteThe summit has been a great experience. I had a lot of pleasure meeting the many international and local people here.
ReplyDeleteSummit dialogues are very interesting as we get to hear a lot of opinions and ideas.
The timing set for the summit dialogues is perhaps inhibiting to the accomplishment of a thorough and useful conversation between the many nations and peoples represented though.
The summit, until now, has completely fullfilled its purpose to educate me about the different opinions of various countries concerning issues that will move our society in the coming years. I'm looking forward to continuing the discussions in the actual dialogues but also outside on the trips and really appreciate the distinct group of people I get the chance to spend time with.
ReplyDeleteLIYLS has been a great opportunity to meet new people, get to learn about new cultures and discuss political issues with other ambitious students so far. Specific examples, like the speaker Ishmael Beah and the documentary "Born in Goma" gave insight into existing problems of this world and all the cultures were brought together in their wish to make these things better.
ReplyDeleteThe Summit has been an incredible experience to this point. Meeting new people, doing the planned activities and seeing the regular school life of Dominion High School has all been brilliant. It has been very interesting to find out what the differences are in the other countries around the world and the opinions from the people who live in them. The trips to Washington D.C and learning about the history behind the country and the city was great too.
ReplyDeleteFor me the Summit and especially the trips to D.C has been a really great adventure. I like the mix of fun and information. As school is often very boring, they really tried to do the trips as interactive as possible and I think this is a really important point. The Summit should connect people from different countries and that really succeeded.
